Oh, and SmytheKing, Franklin is fighting Luter on that UFC 83 card in Montreal, so I'm not sure if Marquardt would want to wait around that long for Franklin.
Forgot about Franklin and Lutter. Probably right about the waiting. Wonder who else he could fight then? Lots of MW's on the next card. Maybe one of those guys. Okami?
P.S. They've already sold 13k tickets for that show. Better hop on 'em quick when they go on general sale.
Glad Sylvia didn't win. I couldn't take another title reign of fighting not to lose. Next for Sylvia I'm thinking match him against CroCop. Good striking match.
Nog obviously goes up against Werdum. Glad to see him win. Tim was right to be afraid of the ground, look what happened after like 30 seconds once they hit the mat.
Lesnar looked okay, but not great. He should learn that hammerfists are harder to aim, and then you run the risk of hitting your opponent in the back of the head. Lesnar can't just be fed cans, and with what they are paying him, they need to keep him on a main card, not an undercard or UFN. Herring would be good, but he's tied up with Kongo, so I'm not sure.
Mir and Vera would be good if it hadn't already been done. Like SmytheKing said, his win wasn't as impressive as they made it out to be because he was getting his a** kicked. Needs at least 1 more solid win before he can even be considered for a shot. AA would be good. Gonzaga wouldn't do much for Mir considering his last fight, but other than GG or AA, I'm out of ideas.
I think SmytheKing was right in Horn probably came as close as possible to having his head ripped off his body. I think 100 fights have finally taken a toll on him. He's just not the same, and I don't think we'll see him back in the UFC unless he's cornering someone.
As I mentioned above, Marquardt is going to have some serious waiting to do. Although, apparently Cote needs an opponent for UFC 83.
Health won't be back (btw, i almost pissed myself when he got thrown against the cage like a rag doll). Neither will Yundt.

Apparently if you sign up for the newsletter, you get a crack at the tix on Wednesday, and the general sale starts Thursday. I don't even care where I'm sitting, I just wanna be there.

I only post here and on a Facebook group my friend started, where there's less than 20 of us. I can't believe how childish and stupid some of those posters on Sherdog are. I enjoy having discussions where one can have a different opinion and not be called names as a result. I check SD for news, but I don't post there.

Pretty much sums it up, he has to win and win impressively. I understand what EliteXC is doing. Kimbo is an unknown quantity at this point and they have to build him up. It would be foolish to throw him in there with real fighters at this point.

BTW, I couldn't get tix for UFC 83. :( I happened to be working the evening shift on Friday, so I was up and at my computer when they went on sale, and I couldn't even get 1 ticket. I'm glad the event sold so well, because it means they'll be back, but selling more than 50% of the tickets to fight club members was a load of horse****.
I'm indifferent on Kimbo, I think it would be great if Tank won, only because he's such a character.
For whatever reason, I just don't like Kimbo. It's great that he's taking this seriously and he's training with Bas, etc, but I just can't get behind him yet. If he beats a real opponent in Tank, maybe I'll feel differently (I still think that Bo Cantrell fight was a bit of a work), but for now, the only reason he's getting such high billing at this point is because of his background, not because of his performances.

Are some of them going to sell them on ebay for five times the cost? Yes. Does that always happen? Yes. I mean, you had to know this show was gonna be booked. I mean, hometown boy makes good. Looking for revenge. First show ever in Canada. C'mon now. You had to see this coming.

I fully agree that those who pay for the membership should have first crack at tickets. I just feel that there should have been a lower cap on how many could be sold through the presale.
Dana said at the press conference last Monday that over 13,000 tickets had been sold in the first 24 hours of the presale. Considering the estimated seating capacity will be somewhere around the 21,000 mark, that's approx 62% of the seating sold in the first day. Starting last Wednesday, there should have been a 2nd presale for those who signed up for the UFC newsletter. Well, last Tuesday, I received an email saying that due to the volume of tickets sold during the UFC Fight Club presale, the newsletter presale was cancelled. Then on Friday, I hit refresh over and over until the page told me tickets were available, and no luck.
It's not that I'm against the idea of a presale. And I fully understand that the goal of the event is to sell out. But when you look at the # of tickets sold in the presale (possibly as many as 15k, cause Dana said there would only be a few thousand left for the general public), plus you gotta think the UFC keeps a good chunk of tickets for fighters, sponsors, friends, family, etc, and I just feel the UFC dropped the ball.
Trust me, I've taken advantage of many presales in my life, and I've been lucky plenty of times to get tickets to an event that many others did not (when U2 came a couple years ago, the event sold out in less than 10 mins, the ticket server crashed, and I still got tix), I just think it could have been handled better by lowering the number or tickets in the presale, or putting a lower limit on the number of tickets available per Fight Club member, as I believe the limit was 6 per person.
At the end of the day, I am disappointed I didn't get tickets, but happy the event is sold out cause it means they'll be back. And it's probably for the best anyway, because having just bought a house, I really can't afford to go anywhere right now, not even somewhere as close as Montreal.
Bottom line, I'm just ranting and bitching! lol

Apparently (according to his website), Mirko Cro Cop will be making a "big announcement" from Tokyo yesterday. One would assume that he's leaving / been let go by the UFC, but I guess we'll find out for sure tomorrow.
