The good fight was the Forrest Griffin win. What a great fight and a submission to boot!

Why do fighters fight injured. GSP is smart, if he gets hurt in training he'll pull out. Doesn't make any sense to me.

The bad news is Shogun is out till 08, so no chance of him on the December Card.

Hopefully that forces Dana to make that Chuck-Wanderlei fight.
Yeah. I never know what to make of it. Seems that EVERY fighter that loses says they have an injury. Not suggesting that Shogun wasn't injured. . .but there isn't a single guy that goes in that ring 100%. I honestly get tired of hearing that Shogun has a knee injury, Tito's back wasn't feeling right, Tim had an injured back, Diego has a staph infection, your mom has bowed legs. If that's the case, don't fight. If you choose to fight, STFU about it.

Did you guys watch the second episode of TUF?

This Joey kid is starting to annoy the **** out of me. It's nice that he helped the team with takedowns, but the constant whining about his G/F is lame.

Like Serra, mentioned there are guys on the show that have kids and they don't whine about not being able to make calls every 5 seconds.

As for the fight, I thought Dorian had a shot after he landed that big knee. I know he's a Muay Thai guy but I'm not sure why he decided to fight in the clinch. If he stayed back and picked his shots he might have won.

Once Arroyo got it to the ground I knew it was over, he passed and mounted so easily.

I watched it. Felt pretty much the same way. Gotta take back my comments about Mac too. He's starting to change me. The thing he did after the fight with Joanne was very classy. The other thing that I see (so far) is that these guys aren't a bunch of hotheads. They seem to be cool and respectful of each other. Nice change of pace after last season.

Another thing. . .there's lots of talk about Hughes and the Bible thing. I don't personally have any issue with it. I might/might not read it. EVERYONE knows that Hughes is a bible thumper. He's a coach in this and he's trying to help these kids out. The bible is something that helps him, so it's another avenue that he's trying to use to help the guys. I understand it's a touchy subject and religion is something that a lot of people are sensitive about, but I'm not sure what he did was all that harmful.

Strange that Hughes didn't do it once during Season 2, but he's pulling it out early this season. I'm a fairly religious guy, but I still think he's (practically) forcing the guys to read it, and I don't think anyone should ever push their religious beliefs on anyone else. Like when he walked over to Mac (I think) and started trying to make him feel guilty for not reading it.

As for the fight itself, I honestly thought Arroyo was gonna drop like a rock after that nicely placed knee, but like everyone else, you knew that once it got to the ground that it was over. Nice show of class by Mac with Joey, but Joey really needs to go. Enough already. How can he honestly be bitching about the house already? They've only been there a matter of days at this point! Grow a pair, or go home.

Yea, Mac seems like an alright guy. He wrote Joey's name back on the wall and tried talking him into staying.

I think what I like most about him is how much of a professional he is. We've seen past TUFs where the guys just go on to get on TV(Ruediger for example) so it's refreshing to see Danzig train so hard. And he's a guy whose fought in PRIDE, TUF is probably beneath him but he knows it's probably good for his career, so I like how serious he is taking this show.

Yea, I don't really have an issue with it either, like you mentioned it's something that works for Hughes. It's not for everyone but even if it works for just one guy doesn't that make it a success? I don't think anybody was hurt training wise by this.

Yea, I'm not sure if he was making Mac feel guilty. That was a 10 second clip of like an hour long thing. I can see how people can view that move of Hughes to be pushy, but I don't think he was being a dick about it.

I think it's pretty clear that he didn't really force anybody to read it. Hughes may be a bit of a prick but I think he's fair. If one of the guy's didn't read that passage I don't think Hughes would train them worse or differently. He doesn't seem like that type of guy. And of course Serra twists what happens and comments that Hughes is trying to make everyone a Christian which he clearly wasn't trying to do.

Mac Danzig is doing a blog for the OCregister as the episodes go on. Pretty good read, here are links to the first 2 entries.

Good fight reportedly added to the December Card

http://mmajunkie.com/2007/10/01/repo...ira-at-ufc-79/

Nog-Kongo

This fight makes sense, Kongo deserves a big opponent after his win over Cro Cop and Nog doesn't deserve a title shot yet.

I think match-up wise you'd have to give the edge to Nog. While his boxing is outstanding I think he'll be smart enough to see that Kongo has zero ability on the ground. If he gets the takedown the fight will be over pretty quick via submission.

Kongo though has looked improved and he has Juanito in his corner who is slowly becoming one of the top cornermen in the game. If he can keep the fight standing he has a shot but Nog is one tough SOB.

Should be a solid fight though, good clash of styles.

David Terrell Vs. Ed Hermann on for November.

http://mmajunkie.com/2007/10/03/davi...al-for-ufc-78/

Nice to see David Terrell returning. Talented guy coming back to a weak division. Hopefully his debut goes well.

not unless Kongo learns 6 years of ground game

Nog's going to submit him in under two minutes

I will be interested to see if Dan Henderson brings his other shiny belt to the Franklin-Silva II fight. I still have Silva winning that one, much to the dismay of the home crowd

Terrell-Herman...hoping this will be the last we see of Ed Herman for a while.

Did he come to the bout with Rampage with the PRIDE belt? I don't remember if he did. I know for damn sure Rampage didn't walk out with it. I think just getting rid of the PRIDE belt is Dana's way of saying a big **** YOU to PRIDE.

Also I've read stuff that despite the UFC's urgings, Hendo wants to stay at 205. Hopefully he changes his mind.

Could be, if he wins they should set up a rematch with Kendall. That first fight was awesome!

Hmmm this is interesting

http://mmajunkie.com/2007/10/03/rash...ded-to-ufc-78/

Evans-Bisping is now a match for the November card.

This was supposed to be Tito-Rashad. There are rumors of a contract dispute with Tito and the UFC.

Other rumors are Tito could face Hendo.

I wanted to see that Rashad-Tito rematch, but I would be happy with Hendo destroying Tito.

Yeah, I seem to remember him coming in with the belt after Rampage beat Chuck. I'm almost 100% on that.

Just wanted to comment on tonights TUF. While I like the guys a TON more than last season, the fights just suck.

He definitely did. But I'm not sure he came into the Octagon with the PRIDE belt when he fought Rampage. I know for damn sure he wasn't introduced as the PRIDE champion.

And after that right, Rampage only had one belt with him.

I'm REALLY shocked by this matchup. I've liked Bisping, and the UFC has really coddled him in my opinion. To give him to Evans after fighting Evans light, I'm gonna say that Dana feels Bisping isn't what he hoped he was. This is Bispings chance to show he's better than that last fight. I honestly think he has ZERO chance in this one. Rashad is a much better striker than Hammill and I think he's dominate the match. The only hope Bisping has is the fact that Rashad is a smaller 205 than Hammill is. I seriously think he gets killed though.
