I wonder if this is Dana talking out his a$$, or if Silva really didn't want to fight Liddell. If it's true, then Silva is a pu$$.
I want that fight as much as the next guy but I don't blame Wanderlei for wanting an tune up fight after getting smoked in his last 2 fights.
I mean if he fights Chuck he would have taken Cro Cop-Henderson-Chuck. I mean that's pretty tough.

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell (20-4 MMA, 14-3 UFC) and Keith Jardine (12-3-1 MMA, 4-2 UFC) are expected to headline Anaheim’s UFC 76 event in September. A source close to one of the fighters told UFCjunkie.com (www.ufcjunkie.com) of a tentative agreement that was reached earlier today.
Not exactly a big time matchup but the UFC can get away with it because when Chuck fights people will buy the PPV. Hopefully its a strong overall card. I don't like Jardine's chances at all.

Agreed. After seeing Jardine's last performance, I don't think his chin is as strong as he thinks it is, and against someone like Chuck, that's a very bad thing.

Probably doesn't help when you are lifted off the ground by a uppercut...

Saw that too. I just don't buy it though. I really don't. Why would Dana put Jardine out there after that horrific loss he just had? I mean, that was highlight material. It would be like putting Sean Salmon in there against him. I have a suspicion that the fight with Liddell would have happened if that fight against Alexander didn't go down like it did, but. . .it did. I can't see Dana putting him in there against Chuck. Oddly enough, I could see him putting Forrest in there though. That would be a fight that people would watch and it would (for some reason) make sense.
Here's some good news. Usually I wouldn't be excited about a UFC being showed on delay but seeing Rampage-Henderson for free...can't complain about that.

Looks like Jardine vs. Liddell is confirmed and speculation is that Shogun will be fighting Forrest instead of Machida. Interesting there. Not sure if that's because of risk to Shogun or the style of Machida. Could be a little of both. I STILL don't get why Jardine gets Chuck after that beating. I can only imagine it's because he was the only one dumb enough to step in last minute for the fight. Still, the card looks nice. I might be getting tickets if I can afford it.
I asked my buddy who is a MMA expert, and I asked him if he thinks Penn is going to stay at LW and he thinks probably not...one of he through out there was Roger Huerta, Dana seems to be pushing this guy a lot.

yeah I think Penn struggled to get to 155, but I know Dana would love a name like that instead of him being one of many to try and take the 165 belt.
I know K-1 signed Gomi, but I'm fairly certain having to strip their champion that the UFC may up the ante a bit.
