Sorry but this guy isn't getting the job done. Needs to go and maybe we can bring in someone that knows how to get Kobe some real help. Kupchuk could have gotten Kidd if he didn't try to lowball Thorn. I don't know if Kidd would have helped the Lakers beat the Suns but I'd say the chances of beating the Suns would be greater with Kidd on the Lakers. It's been too long since the Lakers actually were exciting to watch and root for and that is because the best GM ever in the NBA the logo knew how to put together a team. Something Kupchuk clearly doesn't know how to do judging by his moves.

The Lakers wern't going to win the championship with or without kid. Not worth giving up Bynum for a 34 year old point guard.

What about Bynum, Odom and this year's 1st for Jermaine O'Neal? Personally I think that's one of a very few trades involving Bynum that I would approve of.

I brought this up previous. I think I mentioned this before, I'd be more inclined to trade Bynum for an impact big man rather than an impact backcourt player.
I don't know if the Pacers are all that excited about that package though. It was more or less pure speculation from Marc Stein.
If he goes, it'll be just another scapegoat. You think Phil and Dr. Buss don't have anything to do with the roster?
Not to mention Buss' kid Jim. I have read stuff that says that he's calling a lot of the shots and it is basically Kupchak's job to do what he says.
Quote:
The problem? Jerry Buss' son Jim was a driving force behind the drafting of Bynum with the No. 10 pick in the 2005 draft and badly wants to keep his pet project off-limits. If Jackson were to refuse an extension -- or even leave the organization before next season in a worst-case scenario -- this matter figures to be the biggest wedge.
"Oh, yeah. There's a bigger reason than any of those three: Bryant and Jackson don't appear to be huge Bynum fans. Neither seems terribly excited about waiting for Bynum to develop"
