I laughed myself into a coughing fit when I saw this story. The Carolina Panthers cut Keyshawn Johnson after having drafted another big USC receiver, Dwayne Jarrett, in the recent draft.
Anyone that watched the draft has to be laughing. Keyshawn, that loud idiot, was one of the guest "experts" on ESPN's draft coverage, and was anything but objective the entire time. He was cheerleading for the Panthers and encouraging them to take these offensive players. When they drafted Jarrett, he talked about how he'd show him the ropes, etc.
 OOPS! How do you like your "boy" now, Keyshawn?
Now they're saying he'll have a tough time finding a team and might have to take a huge pay cut. The Panthers seriously played him like a fool, as he clearly didn't see it coming. They could have cut him before to give him a chance on the open free agent market (that is now closed, teams having spent most of their money and filled most of their needs). They could have at least warned him so he didn't make a huge fool of himself at the draft on national television. Instead, as soon as they drafted his replacement, buh-bye!

Seriously, so funny. When I read he got cut all I could think of was how much of a dumbass he was during the draft. He was talking about bringing the USC dynasty to Carolina and now his ass is out. Hilarious.
He has got to be considered one of the most overhyped (self-induced) WRs I have ever seen. All talk, no results. I laughed hard when I saw this.
No results doesn't really describe Keshawn. I don't like the guy, but he was a very solid WR for a long time and he was never afraid to go over the middle or block. Just because you don't like his persona doesn't mean he's not a good player.

(Note: Dodgers, Braves and Cardinals fans everywhere are nodding and saying, "Yup ... been there, done that.")
**** that. We don't need him taking any PT away from Cotchery. Or even Brad Smith for that matter.
I don't think the Jets will be interested.
I tend to think the Chargers will want Keshawn. They need a big physical reciever to go over the middle. Seems like a good fit, especially since Keshawn is a West Coast guy.
Thanks for waiting 'til now, guys. We already decided to pay Lelie.
I'd rather have Lelie at a relatively benign 2 year $4.3 million contract. Keyshawn probably would have demanded more, and neither would/will be valuable to the Niners beyond this year. Darrell Jackson + Jason Hill will be a fine 1-2 punch at WR once Hill acclimates to the NFL.

I wouldn't mind the Chargers signing him if the price is right (i.e. around a mil) for a year, maybe two. Having a guy on the outside that is willing to block a little bit will help LT i think. I remember at least four or five times last season where he could have had the edge and broken a long one, but McCardell or Parker pulled an ole and let the CB get to him. Plus we need someone beside Gates who isn't afraid to go over the middle.
I watched the draft and felt like Keyshawn was genuinely excited about the fact Carolina had drafted Dwayne Jarrett.
He was. That's what made it funny for me. He obviously had no clue he was cheering his own demise. When ego squashes logic, I enjoy watching life squash ego.

Brad Smith? Keyshawn wouldn't take away from what he does, and if anything he'd help Coles and Cotchery by providing another option and weapon in the passing game.
If anyone is interested, here is a link to what the Jets fans are saying on the board I visit. As of now, 66% would like to have him back, including one Mr. Seafood.
