that's it....from now on the IOC needs to have prospective cities submit logos and mascots PRIOR to being awarded the Olympics. Hopefully this will put an end to the pathetic and hideous logos.
I thought Chicago had a pretty good logo. They incorporated the skyline and several other Chicago facts into the logo... unfortunately they were then told that the torch symbol is off limits.

Now that's not bad, with the Sears tower and all. But torch-policy notwithstanding (and the city engulfed in flames...), maybe too cool and not kitschy enough for marketing the pins and stuffed animals. Cuz the Olympics are about sports after all....
