About This Page: This is a discussion on Other Sports within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. Ok so who are you picking?
I just want a good match-- no one blown out.
At stake: Nadal wins, he's the first in history to win the French Open
At stake: Nadal wins, he's the first in history to win the French Open in his first two times (back to back, of course) Federer wins and you can pretty much hand him the grand slam this year (who's going to beat him at Wimbledon and the US Open??) and he becomes, hands down, the best male to play the sport, at the ripe old age of 25.
For once I'm glad to be living on the East Coast-- 9 AM is early, but 6 AM sucks.

If Federer wins he can have his own slam. The Roger slam if you will akin to the Tiger slam. He'll be the champion of all 4 majors at the same time.

Nadal will probably win again, but I would like to see Federer get his first French Open title.
IMO Federer's talent and his place in tennis history would not dampened regardless if he wins the French Open. Afterall, Pete Sampras never won the event.

Nope not at all. Remeber Bjorn Borg never won a US Open either. But winning a French would certainly cement Federer's legacy if not make him the GOAT. Especially since he has plenty of tennis left in him.
I was rooting for Federer. I like both players and both provide great entertainment in their matches. I only got to see the first three sets this morning, but it was a shame Federer couldn't get his serve going. He looked off his game today, just as was the case against Davydenko in the semifinals. Federer can be off his game and still beat every player. The only exception being Nadal on clay. As bad as his serving was (along with his forehand deserting him on occasion), he still managed to get quite a few chances to break in the first and second sets. If he takes advantage of those, maybe he pulls out the match. I give Nadal all the credit in the world, but I do think Federer can beat him in the French. He just has to show up with his full arsenal and have it all working. Remains to be seen if that timing will ever happen.
All in all, I was pretty pleased with the French Open. Was also a shame that Ana Ivanovic couldn't get over the jitters in the finals against Henin. Would have seen one hell of a match if her serve was working for her yesterday. Surprising how good of a run Sharapova had coming off an injury. And pretty painful to watch American Men's tennis has hit a new low. They may not like playing on clay, but for the whole squad to not win a single match is just pitiful.
