Question So what's the deal with the jerseys?

I have a question about the jerseys. What the hell is home and what the hell is away? Is it always like this?

Patriots @ Jets. Jets are wearing White.

Eagles @ Packers. Packers are wearing Green.

Bears @ Chargers. Chargers are wearing White.

Falcons @ Vikings. Vikings wearing Purple.

So what is it? I could have sworn it was usually dark colored jerseys at home and white colored jerseys away? Or is there no such rule ever really?

Home team has choice. Usually dark is home though.

The broadcasters said the Chargers are wearing white because of the heat.

Yea a lot of home teams chose white today, hmmm. Usually only Dallas and Washington wear white at home.

Bingo. This is fairly common in the hotter months of the season.

And as SirJW noted, only Dallas and Washington exclusively wear white at home. A lot of other teams flip-flop a bit though.

Ah... thanks for the responses guys. So I guess they don't really determine a home and away jersey then. If it's really their choice.

Quite odd that the Raiders are sporting the black ones at home... aren't they putting themselves at a disadvantage.. heat wise?

I wore a green basketball jersey to the Jet game because it was too hot for a regular jersey. When I got to my seat and saw they wore white, I reversed my jersey to wear the white side with green numbers. Turned out to be the highlight of the game.

I don't think you'll ever see the Raiders not wear black at home.
