About This Page: This is a discussion on Football within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. As probably the biggest Raider fan on this board, let me come and say this ****ing sucks.

sweet ****ing Lord...I swear the Raiders are gonna suck until that stupid son of a bitch Davis dies. Even then I'm sure he'll will the team to some douchebag in his family that will keep the team sucking forever. This is ridiculous.

Davis is pretty adamant about keeping the Raiders family owned. I know a rather large minority stake was sold in the last few years but the Davis family remains majority owners. I mean why would he will the team to someone else?
Anyways, it's on record that ownership would pass to his wife and son. I've read that his kid isn't as involved in football ops as Al is so a GM would then be hired.
It's so sad to think that one of the most proud and historic franchises in all of sports has sunk beyond any pre-imagined depths. I grew up with The Raiders, never as a fan though because I was young, but both my dad and my older brother were big fans in the 80's. I've never been a fan but I've always had an admiration for what The Raiders used to stand for. It's a shame that the man who helped build the legacy is doing everything he can to tear it down and take it with him when he dies...
The only man that might make a bit of difference - the Raider's upcoming first round draft choice.....Darren McFadden.
Him or hopefully Glenn Dorsey. I love McFadden but the Raiders didn't have trouble running the ball last year, it was stopping the run that was the huge problem.

Assuming the Dolphins don't trade their pick, they draft Dorsey.
McFadden + Russell = at least fun to watch next season!

I wouldn't say that is such a lock. Parcells loves running the 3-4 defense and the Dolphins already have the 3-4 in place. Dorsey is a one gap penetrating defensive tackle. His style is not ideal to being a 3-4 NT. He's talented enough to probably play NT in the 3-4 but it would not be a good use of his skills and you wouldn't be getting the awesome player he was at LSU.
Dorsey is best suited to being the penetrating DT in a 4-3 defense partnered up with a 2 gap DT who'll occupy blocks and stop the run. Kevin and Pat Williams in Minnesota is a good example of this combo.
Dorsey is suited to playing 2 gap in a 3-4 holding up blockers and stuffing the line ala Ted Washington, Vince Wilfork, or Casey Hampton.
Also keep in mind, provided the Raiders retain this coaching staff, that Kiffin and Tom Cable have installed the zone blocking system to great effect. One of the main philosphies behind this technique is that the right type of RB can be successful(see Justin Fargas/every Denver RB). It's not neccessary to have a top 5 talent at RB to make this system succeed.
I love McFadden and Al might fall in love with his measurables but with this philosophy the Raiders might pass on McFadden and take Dorsey if available or a Chris Long, perhaps even a Sedrick Ellis.
I'll be putting together a post Senior Bowl pre combine mock. Make sure you weigh in on it USCkingsfan.
