Like any of us should be surprised? It's New Jersey.

Navy's Reggie Campbell took the kickoff and ran full speed ahead up the middle with all the force his 168-pound body could generate. Campbell, almost always the smallest and fastest man on the field, hit a wall of XXXL-sized scarlet jerseys and was slammed to the ground at the bottom of the pile. He got up slowly, limping off. This gutsy kid, a slotback who already spent three quarters being chased and tackled by gangs of defensive linemen and linebackers, all weighing at least 100 pounds more than him, was then given a dose of Rutgers' student section class.
''You got f---ed up. You got f---ed up. You got f--ed-up," they chanted.
Reggie Campbell is a senior. After graduation in June he has a five-year commitment to the American military, which, like it or not, is at war.

"This is how you treat people who may die for this country?" said Bill Squires, an Annapolis graduate... "It was the most classless thing I've seen."
Navy was booed and peppered with "You suck!" chants when they stepped on the field for both halves. Toward the end of the second half, Rutgers students in the new bleacher section began to serenade the adjacent section of Navy fans and uniformed Midshipmen.
''F--- you, Navy. F---you, Navy. F--- you, Navy."
Way to go New Jersey. Harassing kids after they get hurt and yelling obscenities at people who defend your right to wear gold chains and spray-on tan. All this only a few days before 9/11. If it were a few drunk students being idiots at a Rutgers-WVU game then whatever. Every school has drunk idiots. To have a student section chanting that stuff during a game against a service academy though? Pathetic.
I was thinking on the irony of that whole incident now when considering this. Pathetic. I think the Navy football team should sue Rutgers University for "emotional trauma" and demand that the school be banned from Bowl games for the next 5 years.

Jayzus Keerist...I swear...as a native New Jersey-an...if you guys bust on us...15 more times...I am gonna withdraw my allegiance from this site...
Hey Seafood...don't let'em get you down...just cause they are from the most shallow, vacuous major city in the world they think they can bust on one of the most honest, true places in the world...let em do the usual..."bodies in the swamp...big hair...bonjovi...springsteen...whatever" all they want...F##k Em...especially you Tonga...Suck A big bag 'O'D##ks!
I hear you. California's mostly a bunch of ***s with 80s moustaches anyway. They have four seasons out there, too--fire, flood, mud and drought.
Way to generalize a whole state by the actions of a few drunk idiot college kids. Because the other 49 states don't have any drunk idiot college kids.
You see, I knew this would be your response before you even read this post. Too easy. Fortunately the the author already has a response prepared for you.

Some will excuse the behavior as kids just being kids, out to have a loutish, drunken good time. Spewing obscenities at the visiting team is just part of the fun.
But you'd hope our Jersey kids would be smart enough to make an exception for the service academies, especially the weekend before the anniversary of Sept. 11, their generation's own Day of Infamy. You'd hope they'd be sensitive enough to realize that some of those Midshipmen may soon be among the young American men and women fighting and bleeding and dying in Iraq and Afghanistan. Young Americans, the same age as those safe in the stands watching a football game with their faces and bodies painted red.
Hoping for intelligence and common sense? That sure is hoping for a lot out of New Jersey.

Que? You can rag on Californians for some of their ridiculous fashion choices but the only people I see with staches are cops.

You know this makes zero sense right? That was a really poor attempt at being witty. Let me guess. First comes the flood. Then because it rained so much there is mud. How clever! Then comes the terrible drought after all that rain... because that's what causes a drought right, excess rain? Then the soaked ground and green plants from all that rain suddenly catch fire. I know it's a common saying for people who can't afford to live here but you should really think it through.

That's the first time I've ever heard California mocked for the weather.
It's just a joke, I love the weather out there.
lath, I didn't even read your reply because you've already proven to be a tool not worthy of my time. If you made this thread to try and start an argument with me for whatever reason, you're out of luck.
Go ahead and continue to think you're some kind of authority on baseball, second-guess the manager with your 20/20 hindsight and jump off the roof every time the Dodgers lose a game.
Haha. Dude you've been on my ignore list for months. It makes the Dodger threads much more readable. I just view your posts every now when I need a laugh.
