About This Page: This is a discussion on Football within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. so I hear he is available again.
will USC welcome him back with open arms (and pockets full of cash)?
The offense hasn't been the same and Pete's a D guy, so no I'm not. Norm probably won't take the step back in his career though.
Pete and Chow didn't get along very well, and Pete isn't demoting Sarkisian.
The year after Chow left, the offense put up 49 pts. per game and has put up over 30 pts. per game since. Unfortunately, you can't have Leinart/Bush/White/Jarrett/Smith every year.
Neuheisel is courting him, but I'd be very surprised if that went anywhere.
I've heard that Chow is to have a face-to-face with Skippy on Friday... I've also heard that it's a done deal, he's accepted the position at UCLA. We'll see how it plays out.
Totally out of left field but my guess. I would love Chow at UCLA but I don't think it will happen.
I'd be shocked if Pete left and equally shocked if USC hired a guy with no previous HC experience to replace him. Considering Sarkisian's been offered an NFL HC job already, he' be far more likely if they were going the coordinator route.
Also something to keep in mind: Chow is guaranteed $2 million over the next 2 years from the Titans minus whatever he earns elsewhere as a football coach. So if he makes $1 or $900,000 next year coaching, he still is pocketing the same amount of $. Because of this, UCLA is talking about backloading his contract in Year 3.
But yeah, still a longshot. He does live in L.A. though...
