The experts said the same thing about Jim Plunkett and Rich Gannon.
Signing Culpepper to this kind of deal is pretty low risk. If he sucks its only a one year committment. If he does well then Davis looks like a genius. It's not like the Raiders are going anywhere in a year anyways.

Culpepper is a good long deep ball quarterback, like the Kerry Collins experiment.
It's too bad he's even less mobile than Collins and the Raiders have no done anything to improve their faulty offensive line.
