Some really good games this weekend.
Cal @ Oregon. [ABC] Should be really entertaining (unless you like defense). This is the game I'm most looking forward to
Cal @ Oregon. [ABC] Should be really entertaining (unless you like defense). This is the game I'm most looking forward to this week.
WVU @ South Florida. [ESPN2] The Mountaineers are going to be looking for payback after last year. The Big East is finally a somewhat entertaining conference.
MSU @ Wisc. [ABC] Battle of the 4-0's. Both teams have played light schedules so this should be a good test for each school.
Auburn @ Florida. [ESPN] Doesn't mean as much this year with UA having a down season but there is something about these schools that make it watchable.
Not so important but if you like offense...
BYU @ New Mexico. [CSTV] Both teams score a lot. Neither team plays defense. This game could go a long way to decide the MWC title.
Irrelevant to all of you but me...
Cincinatti @ SDSU. I've never seen my school beat a ranked team in football. Since I'll be attending the game I just hope they keep it close. Will be entertaining as both teams can put up some points.
Yea, I kept meaning to make the thread but never did for whatever reason. Probably too entertained by Gundy's rant.
Anyways, the Oregon-Cal game will be a great one.
No one has been able to stop Dixon yet. Not sure if Cal is the team to do it. They faced a spread last week when they played Arizona and did well, but that's Arizona. Plus Oregon has a great running back in Stewart.
The line is Oregon(-6). I think the game is a tossup. I want to take Cal with the points. But Oregon has looked more impressive thus far.
How good is South Florida this year? The line is WVA(-7). Everytime I see WVA play they are blowing somebody out. Anybody watch South Florida this year? Can they keep it close?

(Note: Dodgers, Braves and Cardinals fans everywhere are nodding and saying, "Yup ... been there, done that.")
Hard to say how good South Florida is. They did beat Auburn in Alabama but so did Mississippi State. I won't bet the game because I have no idea what will happen. If I had to bet it would be with South Florida and the points.

The reason you see WVA (and other Big East teams) winning blowout games is because they all play soft schedules. The conference isn't much better than the WAC or MWC and the OOC schedules are pathetic. On a neutral field USC, UCLA, Cal, Oregon, and maybe even ASU would beat any Big East team. I really don't get what any of these teams have done to deserve a high national ranking.
If TCU played Rutgers schedule (Buffalo, Navy, Norfolk St) and went 3-0 would they be ranked #10? If Boise State went 4-0 against WVU schedule (WMU, Marshall, Maryland, ECU) would they be ranked #5? The rankings these Big East teams get are absurd. All they do is build on undeserved pre-season rankings by scheduling cupcakes while other top 25 schools drop down after losses.
The games are now watchable but I don't think any Big Easy school is a legit top 15 program.
