About This Page: This is a discussion on Basketball within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. Horrible trade for Phoenix imo, if the deal goes through.

Depending on how healthy Shaq can be in Phoenix, this might bode well for them. To have Shaq start at center and push Amare down to the 4 would create mistmatches for other teams (other than the Lakers of course). The Suns have an entire roster than can potentially put up 20 a night so perhaps this would just be to beef up their front line.
Then again Shaq does not fit well in the Suns offense. He would be too slow to transition. Maybe the Suns are desperate to finally make it out of the Western Conference Finals and they think Shaq might be the one to help them out.

Exactly, he doesn't fit in with their style of play. Plus doesn't he have 2 more years after this one @ $20M/season?

I would love to see Snaq try go haul his fat ass up and down the court at the pace that the Suns are accostomed to. He'll be sucking the oxygen mask half way through the 1st quarter.
Desperate move by the Suns. They know they can't win a championship with their run and gun style. So maybe they think bringing back a fort in Shaq can do it. But I'm sure it'll screw up their chemistry big time, as Shaq needs to post up... and I don't know how the rest of the Suns can function.
But they can still be deadly, if Shaq is posting up, and lots of Suns are cutting left and right. You never know.
