Wondering who this is
ESPNsoccernet - England - Sir Alex lines up transfer surprise at United

(Note: Dodgers, Braves and Cardinals fans everywhere are nodding and saying, "Yup ... been there, done that.")
Not quite, back 4 was intact and the center mids were first choice. Rooney played as well. In reality it was still a strong United side that should have won. Far from being a "B team" that is for sure. The depth wasn't there which is par for the course with United early on.
Credit to Newcastle though, this was the most defensively organized effort I've ever seen them put forth. Also that Guttierez was ****ing excellent today.
A fun weekend to start things off. I had no idea Pompey would get thrashed, also Aston Villa looked good. I highly doubt we see Barry going to Liverpool...
I often wonder if barry is good enough for a top 4 team.
Man Citys Bojinov is out for six months with a torn achilles tendon, I believe he tore his knee ligaments in the first game of last season. 6 million pounds for 72 mins worth of work.

Similar questions surrounded Michael Carrick and he has been a key player on United's two title winning teams.
I think Barry can be successful in a similar role. He won't have to be the superstar of the team(like Carrick) he'll just have to keep possession, spray the ball around, and be responsible defensively. All things he is capable of.
That being said a move seems unlikely with him being cup tied.
berbatov came in around the 65th minute, but they didn't look much better with him. after the game Ramos insisted no offer had yet come in for him, not had berbatov specifically requested a transfer. Talk is talk. he could well be on the way to manchester.
