Yup, I think he can afford to because he knows Roony and Tevez will track back.

In a subpar year for football, THAT was a great battle!
Congrats to ManU.
I don't get this, I've seen this said on this board a few teams. How exactly has it been a subpar year for football? Just cause Barca underachieved? I think it's been pretty damn good. Good Champions League tournament, 2 out of the 3 big leagues came down to the very final day. What's not to like. Doens't make any sense to me where this talk of a "subpar" year of football comes from.
I agree with the John Terry sentiments... sucks for him and the club. Congrats to Man Utd although I would have much rather seen a new club win it.
As far as the subpar football statement, it just goes with the turf of being a Barcelona fan. In our opinions, nobody plays better or more stylish football. Even worse for us is that Madrid won the league with a whopping 18 point advantage. In our eyes it was a TERRIBLE year for football, and obviously it's a completely biased opinion.

All in all a great final and a great end of the season for me of course.
I was glad United came out to attack. Fielding Tevez from the start signaled their intentions. The game needed an early goal to open things up and Ronaldo got it. Everyone talked about how he wasn't a big game player which is just total BS. He's scored his share of goals in big games, I was glad he shut everyone up with that powerful header. Everyone is talking about his penalty miss, convienient that everyone forgets about the opener.
He also gifted Tevez a goal on a platter with an outstanding cross, just wasn't Tevez's day though. He could have had 2 goals in the first half. One of those led to a Carrick shot that Cech saved brilliantly. He really is the best keeper in the world. He was outstanding.
Chelsea's equalizer was totally against the run of play, but credit to them for finishing their chance. A rough 8-10 minutes for Rio. Got booked, then screwed up his clearance. Essien has a rocket of his shot and was fortunate that it deflected off of somebody(I think Scholes) then went off of Rio right to Lampard. That's what Lampard does though, ghosts in and gets a goal.
Chelsea controlled the second half, the subs came late in this game, did that surprise anybody else? Took till about the 80th minute for changes to happen when the game seemed to stall around the 70 minute mark.
Extra time was a wild affair a couple posts and an unbelievable clearance from John Terry after a beatiful run and pass by Evra right to Giggs.
No one has talked about Drogba by the way. What the hell was he thinking. The red card was probably a bit harsh but Jesus, its not a good idea to slap someone on the other team.
Penalties are penalties, just a toss up at that point.
I thought Hargreaves was awesome today, That's why we spent all that money on him. Fought for every ball and was a tiger in the midfield.
Ferguson seemed to push all the right buttons. All three subs made their penalties.
By the way, glad United didn't buy Anelka during the winter transfer window.
Yea, he's one of wears his heart on his sleeve types. I'm sure he is devestated. It really is a shame, he's one of the big reasons Chelsea even got to penalties. I still can't believe he cleared that Giggs shot away. Amazing.
Congrats Man U fans, but just remember if you're planning to show off to Liverpool fans how many Champions League trophies you have, don't feel bad if we show you how many more we have...

I think we are pretty happy with our side and the loads of recent success.
