About This Page: This is a discussion on Baseball within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. Martin singles in DeWitt. 3-1 Doyerss.
Solid outing so far out of Kershaw. Far cry from his last start in Coors. Good to see him bounce back from that.

Yeeessss.... 4.5 game lead now for the Dodgers. W00T!
Time for the dancing Jesus!

\\"If I'm available, I'd be happy to,\\" he said. \\"I don't know what is going to happen. I'd be more than happy to come back to L.A. It's not under my control.\\"
Please, pretty please: Hit like you used to
He's having two surgeries in a few days, I believe... He's shutting it down for the rest of the year. I have a feeling bringing Beltre back would make a Jones'-like impact.
Quote:
Left-hander Joe Beimel hasn't given up a home run in his last 96 appearances, the longest active streak in the majors and a Los Angeles Dodger record. Asked if he wasn't afraid that talking about the stretch would jinx it, Beimel replied, \\"I'm too mentally strong to succumb to jinxes.\\"
Let's see if he's mentally strong enough not to succumb to a few shots of the ole' sanitizer if the Dodgers get into October.
4.5 games in front, now. I want the Dodgers to keep playing like they have been the last 15 games or so and not sit back and coast. I'd much rather run away with the Division title than have a nail-biter at the end.
Magic number = 11 with 14 games remaining. I'm kinda worried about Maddux getting the start tonight. Let's hope we see the good version. I'd love to see a single-digit magic number tonight, too...so I hope the Reds can do their jobs.
Go Dodgers!

Maddux, P (looking to pass Clemens today on all-time wins list)
I like Kemp in front of Manny while Ethier is gone. Maybe he can get back to what he was doing a couple of weeks ago. And a day off Martin is needed and being up 4.5 games is a good time to do it.
It appears unlikely Rafael Furcal will be able to return next week, as he attempts to get back in shape after not playing since May. "His back is fine. Most of what he's nursing now is just a lot of stuff you'd be nursing in spring training," Manager Joe Torre said. "His legs are getting a little heavy right now. He has to get a little more in shape.
Martin getting a day off... hell must have frozen over.
