Saito will be a big boost if he can be effective. Our pen is really overworked. Our only reliable relievers are Broxton, Beimel, Kuo, the Ho, and Wade it seems. And Kuo is already feeling the strain of a heavy workload. Elbert has shown some promise but Saito will be a big help.
Who else is in the pen besides the guys you listed? Proctor, Johnson, and... Troncoso?
Derek Lowe is fine. He was lifted as a precaution after he was hit on the back of the right leg by that line drive, but Torre said that was going to be his last inning anyway. He is expected to make his next scheduled start on Tuesday night at Pittsburgh.

(Note: Dodgers, Braves and Cardinals fans everywhere are nodding and saying, "Yup ... been there, done that.")
Man...we've got Valezuela sitting up in that broadcasting booth just wasting away. Tommy's got to call him up and get him in there, because when Reggie or Nettles or Randolph come up, it's gonna get hairy...
Will somebody pull Sutton out of there already?! Geez! Hooton's on six day's rest. Why the hell isn't HE pitching tonight?
Hey, you know that techno song they always play at Dodgers stadium whenever someone hits a home run? It's by Zombie nation. When I first heard it, it was driving me nuts because I knew I heard it before somewhere else, and I figured it out!! It was from an old video game from the commodore 64 system called Lazy Jones. I find it crazy that something from a video game I played as a young kid would resurface in my memory like that...

Yeah. It's also a common Kings goal-celebration song.

Meanwhile, Hong-Chih Kuo received a shot of cortisone to calm down the inflammation in his left elbow, which has been operated on four times already. The last time a fatigued Kuo pitched was Sunday, but he is expected to be available again tomorrow assuming his elbow responds.
Consecutive doubles by Nomar and Kemp. Dodgers up 3-2. DeWitt at 3rd now with 1 out.
