I gotta give the Doyers some credit. They have been playing good lately. It appears that Jeff Kent is the catalyst. Get rid of him for the year and they make the playoffs.

SAN DIEGO - Dodgers right-hander Brad Penny, who threw a 40-pitch side session and a 30-pitch simulated game on Monday at Petco Park, could be activated from the 15-day disabled list as soon as Friday. But he won't be rejoining the club's starting rotation.
The Dodgers plan to activate shortstop from the 60-day disabled list next week in Pittsburgh. That's assuming he comes out of a simulated game hitting against Takashi Saito tomorrow. The team would need to clear two 40-man roster spots to activated the two of them.
