Speaking of contracts... theoretically the Dodgers have a lot of money to play with this off-season, with the caveat of course that there will be holes to fill.

Penny(but his option will surely be picked up)
Loaiza
That's a lot of payroll coming off the books. However the Dodgers will have to give raises to a lot of the youngsters, Martin, Kemp, Ethier, etc. And will probably entertain the thought of locking them up long term like the Young and Longoria contracts.

I think we'd all much rather have Ned invest the money in keeping Martin, Kemp, Loney, and Bills around than wasting it on scrubs like Loaiza and Pierre
Kuo K'd the side. This is why I want him starting. Does he get in trouble with walking too many batters? Yes, but he has the ability to strike major league batters out. Unlike Loaiza who just tosses up crap and gets rocked.
