Well Logan White did draft him as a first rounder. So that should say something about him.
The guy looks like a legit player at the plate. I haven't seen him look overmatched at all. Compare him to a guy like Hu, who was hyped-up, and you could see the difference. DeWitt has an idea of what's going on at the plate. Almost like he's studied the pitcher the night before and has a feel as to what the pitcher might throw him.
Hu on the other hand, looks like a guy just going up to the plate and hacking. He looks like a pitcher's dream and a rather easy out.
Can someone tell me why the **** Hu felt it necessary to not cover 2nd base on what should have been an easy inning ending double play ball?
Lowe has been getting killed by errors this year. I don't think he's been awful this year, but I did expect him to be lights out with a contract on the line. That being said, it wouldn't surprise me if he ends the year with an ERA under 4, just like he's done his entire career as a Dodger. Not sure where this "thank God his contract will be off the books" talk came from.

It came from me. And it was in reference to 10 mil coming off the books to a guy who will be 35. 10 mil could be used in better ways NEXT YEAR.
Not saying he's been bad in blue. But I would expect a veteran like him to get out of a jam (regardless of an error), instead of serving up a 3 run bomb.
I have to ask you. What was it like watching Torri Hunter doing stuff like getting on base, knocking in runs, and coming into score? I imagine it must have been pretty weird seeing a free agent center fielder do those things since Andruw Jones is batting only .167 and went 0 for 11 with 5 strikeouts against the Angels this weekend.
Better yet, what was it like seeing Mike Napoli practically do in a single game (2HR 5RBI) what Mr.
Jones has needed 43 games to accomplish (2HR and 7RBIs)?
