Bats are working but Colon didn't look so good. He's hitting 95ish on the radar but getting the ball up in the zone too much. How can he pitch so well last time and then throw like that?

Maybe he got too confident after Vlad's monster slam (BTW - it HAD to be more than 435')

I cant believe how strong he is. On every replay i've seen it looked like he hit that toward the end of the bat, but the ball just kept going and going. Huge HR.

I felt bad for Erstad last night when he couldn't find the ball in the air..... but it was funny. I was listening to 710 ESPN Radio the other night while I was driving home. Someone on the radio said if the Angels aren't up by 7 or 8 games by the All-Star break. Something is wrong... since Oakland is all banged up right now.

has scoscia(sp) used the same batting order twice in the last two weeks?

they may be in first now, but the AL west is weak and vlad still doesnt have anyone protecting him in the lineup. they better get some stellar pitching this season

Escobar looked great last time he went up to pitch. Lackey still looking great as usual. But we need to get Lackey some run support. He's winning games, but it's like 2-1 or 3-1. Not too much comfort for him.

Santana needs to smell the coffee and do his thing. His ERA is kinda high. Weaver finally looked good again today.

Anyone else surprised at what Matthews Jr is doing for us? I thought he'd totally be a flake or be under average so to speak. But he's doing pretty darn good, and I like it. Plus Reggie Willits is a HUGE plus for us, especially with GA out. I hope Willits get more playing time even when GA returns.

Plus Kendrick is about to come back. He'll play for AAA Salt Lake this week or next week I believe.

Wonder if Santana will be trade bait if he doesn't learn how to pitch on the road? If Figgins continues to struggle at the plate and Willits continues to hit, maybe we trade Santana and Figgins for a 3rd baseman that can hit, and just leave Willits up to be a 4th outfielder.

its funny that both the dodgers and angels are in need of 3rd basemen that can hit. Do the angels have anyone in mind?

I was okay with Izturis at 3rd but Sciocia has a boner for Figgins and always seems to get him in the lineup.

How about Gary Mathews Jr... without him and Reggie Willits, we'd be 3 games back. I'm looking forward to the Dodgers' series... that's always fun. I noticed that Grady Little adjusted the rotation so his 1,2,3, starters would pitch against the Angels... I guess he means business!

What scares me is that Ervin pitches on Friday against the Dodgers and they have HAMMERED him in the past...

Hendrickson is not a 1,2, or 3. Bomko's start is getting skipped and Lowe is pitching on Sunday. With today off that would have happened no matter who the Dodgers were playing this weekend.

The past 3-4 rotations had the dodgers going... Lowe, Wolf, Penny, Hendrickson, Tomko.

Here's coming up to this week's rotation.

5/10 lowe
5/11 wolf
5/12 penny
5/13 hendrickson
5/14 tomko
5/15 lowe
5/16 wolf

5/17 off day

So the next three days should be Penny, Hendrickson, Tomko. Instead, they're going with Penny, Hendrickson, Lowe.

Doesn't matter if the Dodgers want to use Lowe over Tomko. The only person getting screwed here is Tomko. I don't follow the Dodgers, nor the NL too much for that matter... so I don't know if they always adjust their pitchers due to off days. It would suck for the #5 pitcher though, if they miss their start just because of that.

I just know for the Angels... they don't change their rotations at all even if there are off days. But as an Angel fan, I don't really care. It's still going to be a 9 inning game, and that'll be that. I just hope the Angels come out on top

Not always, but we have done it--for example, the first week of the season we used a four-man rotation.

Who cares? They're still getting paid. Tell Tomko to stop sucking.

I'm glad I'm going Friday and not Saturday. I won't pay to watch Hendrickson.
