Of course it all makes sense. Lath has said that no one on the roster is untouchable provided Colletti gets a good return. I agree with that, if LaRoche is moved in a deal that makes sense I'm not going to complain.
But if he gets traded for the likes of Casey Blake or David Eckstein. We'll I guess I won't be surprised which is just sad.

I agree. If LaRoche got sent packing in a worthwhile deal, then of course. But let's take a look at the names that have been rumored as of late...
Adrian Beltre (.776 OPS)
Casey Blake (a decade older, by the way)
David Eckstein
Jack Wilson
Edgar Renteria
Ugh...

I would expect them to try to pick up a SS before the deadline. I wouldn't expect Furcal to be back this year, and definitely not next year.
I also won't be surprised if they move Kemp and a prospect or two to pick up a proven bat.
It's going to get interesting.

I highly doubt Matt Kemp will be traded as one of the reasons CC is not here is because the Brewers wanted him to be included in any trade proposal (at least this is what i'm guessing reading all the post trade reports). I see Laroche and a Mcdonald traded for a Christian Guzman or Laroche and a second level prospect for Beltre and some money. Matt Kemp is showing the Dodgers these last couple of games what he can do. All the young players played well last night including Laroche reaching base his first three at bats...
If anyone gets traded it will be Laroche and hopefully he'll play very well these next few games to jack up his value or play well enough to convince the management that he's the real deal.
