Am I the only one who has never ever been impressed by Broxton, despite him being able to throw 100-mph?

I think what keeps me optimistic is we "seemingly" have some bullets left in the gun.
We're still in the mix division wise and have Furcal(hopefully) poised to comeback after the break, Jones(I'm foolishlingly hoping he can figure it out), and Schmidt(who knows, but at least its another live arm *fingers crossed).
Plus I'm hoping Penny fixes his problems, and our youngsters get their numbers up.
We'll see, no reason to lose hope. Yet...

Yeah, but apparently with Furcal's setback today, he's not supposed to be coming back soon. Which is just...****ty because I've always believed him to be the lynchpin of the offense.
I'm with you on Jones in hoping he can figure it out again...hopefully it was just a mechanical flaw caused by injury that has now resolved itself. Hopefully. If he can return to form, that would be a major advantage.
If Furcal is out for the season, I'd say we let him walk even after his monster '08 campaign pre-injury. Anything more than committing one or two years to him would be a mistake, IMO. And I don't know if he'd want to take anything less than 3 years.
