About This Page: This is a discussion on Baseball within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. So I just settled on tickets for the 8/14 game at Fenway vs. Texas and the 8/15 game at Yankee Stadium vs. KC.
Woot.
Anyone give me any tips about
There are a number of bars around Fenway: Game On, the Cask N' Flagon, etc. The atmosphere around the park is quite festive on game days -- you'll enjoy yourself there.
Where will you end up sitting?
BTW....if you see Dave Magadan, tell him he's a clown.

try to get into the fenway tour...you get to go on top of the monster and onto the field. They do it in the mornings of gamedays.
Yeah. This is a must for me. Shouldn't be a problem getting tickets, as they aren't sold in advance...just day-of on first-come-first-served basis only.
They do tours differently at Yankee Stadium, selling tickets in advance through TicketBastard. Of course, all those tour tickets are sold out since this is the final season in that ballpark. Some are available on eBay for 100x face value, but **** that noise. I'll just go to a game there.
The primary idea behind this trip is to get out to see Yankee Stadium. But I've got enough time off that week to go to both, and the schedules just worked out well. Also, I'm going to try and build up a collection of major league ballpark panoramic photographs similar to the one I have for sale of Dodger Stadium. In fact, I already have about a dozen sales lined up for 20x30s of both Fenway and Yankee stadium. So I've gotta do it. I just hope I can get the pics to turn out as well as the Dodger Stadium image did.

When in Boston, pronounce your "A's" as "ahhhhhhh" and you will fit in just fine. I kinda remember a cool sports bar across the street from the homeplate entrance. Bars are everywhere near the stadium. If you have a car, park far away and ride the rail in. There is a stip right near Fenway. Same with Yankee stadium. Take the subway to the Bronx and don't go anywhere but the stadium from the subway stop. Look across the tracks. It looks like a 3rd World country.

Chiming in with AB there are a ton of bars around Fenway and I went while on a business trip with a co-worker. We were pretty much in the bag by the end of the game so going into one of the bars (which strangely enough reminded me of the Westwood bars while at UCLA!) was a natural.
A couple of things I appreciated about Fenway. Be careful if you are buying seats from a scalper. Remember they have added onto Fenway many, many times and row 1 seats are not that any longer. Secondly they have a ton of vendor's hawking stuff before the game out on the streets in front of the stadium. Buy your peanuts here (roasted as they are being sold for a buck a bag). It is all about the atmosphere with Fenway.
I have never been to Yankee Stadium so I am a bit jealous. It was always a personal goal to get there before they closed it but sadly I won't be able to. Enjoy it and take lots of photos!

Argh!! I got boned on the Yankees ticket I was promised. Got my money back, but argh. Looking for a single ticket in the main part of the stadium was NOT fun. Cheapest I could find at a reputable dealer with a guarantee was $275 and that is in the upper tier. I just got BENT for a cheap seat.
Oh well...once in a lifetime event and all that. My only hope is that I can make an image of Yankee Stadium as good as the one I made of Dodger Stadium and sell it like a mofo to all the crazed Yankees fans that miss The House that Ruth Built after its gone.
So the plan is to head out on the 13th to Boston, spend the night, take the ballpark tour at 9am sharp next morning, then see the game that night (right field box 3). Scoot out early next morning to JFK and train it to my hotel to drop my travel bag off and get changed, head out to Central Park to do some shooting (want to see about getting to St. Patrick's), then to the game that night. Out early next morning back to BUR.
It's gonna be a whirlwind, but it should be fun. Pics to come!

Gonna cut me a deal...?
Sounds like an awesome trip, Glenn. Have a great time. I'll get to Fenway one of these days.
