I haven't seen the crowd this electrified over seeing a player since Eric Gagne. The excitement makes the game that much more enjoyable, not that it needed much boost.
Excellent win that wipes out my previous poor outing. 2-1 now in 2008, woot!

Both the trades Ned has made have made immediate improvements. I was skeptical (and remain so, somewhat), but it is really nice to see things going well.
Blake has been hitting well. Manny is a definite improvement to our offense. We'll get a decent bat back in the lineup at short soon with Garciaparra's imminent return. Hopefully Kemp can stay hot and Martin and Kent can get hot. And then you look forward to the potential return of Furcal when they expand the rosters, and hopefully he brings the spark back to the leadoff spot.
I thought the season was over a week before the All-Star break. Happily, it turns out that it has just begun.

Or Kemp is rubbing off on Manny! We've been doing the mid air collision celebration for the entire year. It's funny when Andruw does it because he doesn't get much air.
Before the homerun, Kemp went up to Manny in the dugout and rubbed his bat onto Manny's bat while Manny was taking slow practice swings. (I know that kind of sounds like sexual innuendo.) Kemp's next at-bat, he bombed one, opposite field.
