About This Page: This is a discussion on Baseball within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. ****. Both Blake AND Loney should be hitting in front of Kent.
Thanks Torre.
Blake's defense is out of this world so far since he's been with the Dodgers.
Out of this world? This is another example of the expectations game. Blake has made plays hit right at him but he hasn't made and ridiculous web gems. Kudos to him, but let's not pretend he's been Brooks Robinson over there.

(Note: Dodgers, Braves and Cardinals fans everywhere are nodding and saying, "Yup ... been there, done that.")

Not Brooks Robinson. Not even Scott Rolen. But his reaction time is impressive, there's no denying. He's caught some lasers tagged his way and has backhanded a few sharp grounders tagged along the foul line.
I'm not saying he's sprawling and making diving catches here and there but his arm has been good, his reaction time has been impressive and his few web gems like Friday's barehanded off-balance throw have been a welcomed sight. Certainly better than I expected from him defensively.

I would hope his reaction time would be impressive seeing as how he is a big league 3B. The fact of the matter is he is still average-poor defensively. That base hit that Romero just got, a decent 3B makes that play. The guy has no range whatsoever.
As to Ned making two trades that have been beneficial, I don't know what that is such a surprise to you. He gave up 4 players who aren't on the big league roster(LaRoche honestly doesn't even count because we didn't use him) for 2 guys who were contributing in the majors. Of course the deals were going to be good for the big club.
