Russ has been pressing. We need to get him out of there and hit him elsewhere, either #2 or #6.
I would like this lineup if Pierre (ugh) were starting:
1. Pierre
2. Martin
3. Kent
4. Manny
5. Kemp
6. Blake
7. Loney
8. Nomar
I've never liked the idea of catcher batting near the middle of the order. It's asking a lot of player to be a gold glove catcher AND carry the offense. Martin is a good player but he's not the caliber of hitter of a Joe Mauer or Mike Piazza.

when pierre plays and the bottom of the lineup is up does anybody else hope we can get through the leadoff spot? starting off an inning with juan might be worse than leading off with the pitcher. oh, and manny is a beast.
