seriously gnarly injury. this is above above and beyond who we root for, although it doesn't need to be said. we all (i hope) want a speedy recovery and long career from zednik.
My thoughts and prayers are with him also. No matter what team we cheer for, you never want to see anything like this happen to anyone. Hopefully we will see him with the team soon.

This was as bad as it gets but anyone who has seen the Milarchuk injury will never forget that injury. Sharp, sharp skates are always a factor and a danger.

TSN has an article on Malarchuk discussing how he's never gotten over his memories of the night he had his jugular vein sliced and how he's anxious to talk to Zednik. Wants to advise him to take his time coming back to play, although Malarchuck didn't do that himself. Played 4 days later.

both malarchuk and zednik sustained cuts to their carotid artery and not the jugular vein.
