The Ducks pull off whatever trade theyre gonna pull off to bring back Neids for their Cup run?

And what if the trade is even close to the one being proposed by Eklund

Schneider and Perry for Koivu, Halak and another prospect. Then have Koivu talk Selanne into coming back - this will once again make them the frontrunners for the Cup - even over the Wings.

What the hell is going on in SoCal? Is Brian Burke really that much better of a GM than Dean Lombardi? We need a goalie and Jaro Halak is suppossed to be one of the best young goalies ready to break through - look at Tuuka Raask and what he's been able to do in limited work for the Bruins.

It just doesnt make sense to me - I understand we're rebuilding but if a peice like Halak is available then how are we not in a discussion like that - especially if the Ducks are on the other side. I think if that trade goes through we might find ourselves in a 2 - 0 Cup hole to the Ducks.

Hopefully if Brian Burke pulls this off he'll get the Toronto job that he's always wanted and then the Ducks might come back down to our level - cause the god Lord knows we arent raising ourselves up to theirs.

But besides that, did you really think Niedermayer and Selanne were not going to return? Selanne's going to return with or without the Ducks trading for Koivu.

It actually wouldn't shock me in the least bit if he did this.

His window of opportunity is short. 2 to 3 years tops, and Burke has never been afraid to move younger players for veterans.
