I'm sorry folks - I know how you feel about rooting AGAINST your team, but with the Oilers decimated by injuries and holding a slim 5 point lead over the Kings...
... I'm rooting for the Oilers AGAINST the Kings Thursday.
As much as I love my Kings, I cannot stomach the next 10-15 years of Stamkos on the Ducks.
An Edmonton win Thursday puts them 7 points ahead with 17 to play and THAT isn't safe enough for me.
A Kings win puts the Oilers/Ducks three points away.
It also means Brian Burke's price just went up - Is it worth giving up Cammalleri for that pick?

I dont think anyone can argue this point...every move the guy makes ends up being the Super Deal.
As for Lowe-hes a class A fool. Everyone knew the Oils were a borderline playoff team at best. Why he thought Penner would put them over the top is baffling-not to mention that the Ducks would have been hard pressed to sign Penner anyhow with the salary cap.
Lowe gave Burke the golden handshake.
Which brings me to the next point-why is it that when GMs make bonehead moves they always do it to teams in the Kings division? See Thornton, Joe.

And Burke gave Lowe a golden shower. Burke is a great GM, but Lowe was the second GM to succumb to his "spell of stupidity." I still don't know what Doug MacLean was thinking in that Fedorov trade. I've said it before; I think that Burke had some pictures of these guys in bed with a live boy or a dead girl in order to get them to do the stupid things that they've done. You gotta strike while the iron's hot!
If the Ducks get Stamkos JMFJ or Schenn can take him out, right? Problem solved!
