I think the rumor is Marleau going for the 19th overall and Zherdev.
That would be a big gamble, but if it worked out, it'd make San Jose pretty nasty if you ask me.

This is what I heard:
The Malkin thing...well, it was said that it is a money issue. But his agent "doesn't" know anything about it. Pittsburgh wants to get into the first round are said to be testing the market.
I know a lot of the teams are waiting to see what the Kings do because Feaster said it would basically take an act of god to get the #1. I don't have team names, but LA is fielding calls.
Its pretty fair. Doughty/Bogisian are projected to be top 1/2 d-men. Kopitar is a top line center.
It's fair maybe value wise, which is why it won't happen. Assuming Pitts can't afford to sign Hossa and keep Malkin, which is the only reason for them to make this deal, they are the ones that have to overpay.
No way we give up Kopitar and the #2 overall for Malkin. You want the #2 overall pick? You overpay.
Throwing in O'Sullivan and Visnovsky is giving Pitts too much in this deal. It's Cammalleri and the #2 overall only, or forget it.
Imagine the Kings down the middle next season.
Malkin
Kopitar
Boyle
Handzus
That ain't bad...

I agree and looking into the crystal ball it would be so LA Kings to make this trade and have Malkin get injured and into a nasty contract squabble on our end while Kopitar and the DMAN taken at #2 makes Pittsburgh into an unstoppable powerhouse.
