You meant division, and I know you meant that.
There's a lot of hockey to be played and what you suggest may not happen, but it may and that's just the way it is for now. Yes, i am the master of the obvious.
Maybe they'll change who makes the playoffs in the future if what you suggest happens.
Atlanta sure has done a 180 compared to their start.
If they sneak into the playoffs, their turnaround would be even more incredible.

I'm ok with that. That means that the either the Isles/Flyers/Rags will get assed out. I hate to say it but whatever team wins the Southeast is gonna be fighting for their lives to get in...that is either an easy 1st round matchup or a pair o'rabid weasels in a paper bag.

The division winner certainly deserves to have a top 3 spot, the most they could do is qualify the spot and say you need to win the division and have more points than #9 to have a top 3 seed and if you dont you're either 8th seed or out of the playoffs. But that would just be confusing and I don't think hockey doesn't want to go that direction while they're trying to gain more fans still
