That trophy wasn't dropped. I snapped in two where the cup attaches to the base. His look was priceless though.

Pretty weak trophy. He had even asked how to hold it when he first picked it up. His hand was on the bottom and the other holding the handle of the cup as he started to hand it off to his teammate. He and the guy he was going to hand it to were in shock momentarily and didn't know what to do. I felt so bad for him.

If memory serves, after the Gulls won the finals a few years ago (when SD actually had a team) in celebrating becoming the champions their cup was broken into a bunch of pieces. In stead of waiting to take the cup , players just passed pieces of it to each other to skate around with.

Looked on youtube but could not find video.

Oh that's damn funny. Make sure the Cup is attached to the base next season.

The Stanley Cup used to come apart like that, the barrel and the Cup came apart until the early 60s.
