"It bothers me," said the Flower. "The PMP 5030 was the best stick in the world." The Habs icon labeled one-piece sticks as "crap," adding, "What does an extra 20 miles an hour matter when the puck goes 50 feet wide of the net"
I have a Luc signature Sherwood from the early 90's. Purposely bought it left handed for 2 reasons. 1) Cause that's what Luc used and 2) so I wouldn't be tempted to use it. I only bought it as a Luc collectable. I also have a Luc signature Koho stick from when he was with the Rangers. Same deal, left handed and just for a collectable.

Now I'm extra pissed that I broke my 5030 this season. I did it myself out of frustration after I caused an own goal. Been having a hard time finding the right stick since.
I've been using the same composite shaft for the past 10 years (even though I haven't played seriously the majority of those 10 years). It's a 1996 Koho Revolution and at the time it cost about $40 or $50. All I gotta do is change the blade whenever it needs it. Currently I'm using a Christian blade, before that I used several Sherwoods. There's some Nike ones that look like they fit my style but they're awfully expensive for just a blade.
if a wooden stick was good enough for NHLers up to around 1990 then it's good enough for all the beer league hosers sporting $200 composites.
Mine's not $200, but I use a composite because if I had to swing a wood stick around for three periods of hockey I'd be wiped out after 1. It's hard enough lugging that composite up and down the ice...
It's hard to find any wood sticks. I wonder if it's like that back East or in Canada too?
It is. I live in Ottawa and the wood stick selection has been dwindling for years. The stores just don't carry them as much. Added to the fact that it seems that everyone in this damn city is left handed (as I am) and it's pretty frickin hard to find a good stick. I'm also 6'4, which makes finding a stick that's long enough the first challenge.
