What a joke, there should absolutely be rules against crap like this
i agree. and not because i'm a kings fan. you either play the season are you don't. However i'm more mad that Scott Niedermayer played in the all-star game. he had NO right playing in that game. you don't sit out over a quarter of the season b/c your not sure if you want to play hockey anymore and take a spot in the all-star game. i lost a lot of respect for him. yes he is a great player but i don't respect him like i used to. same goes for Selanne. Waiting half the season to decide to comeback is bull****

And the tagging room issue - available cap space for next season - that was such a problem in getting Scott Niedermayer in the fold has suddenly reversed itself. The Ducks are currently sitting with more than $4 million in tagging space for next season and if the Ducks were to trade a player at the deadline with a multi-year deal for a player who is in the final year of his contract that number would only increase, so much so that signing a restricted free agent like Corey Perry to an extension before July 1 would not be out of the question.
That right there my friends is some mighty fine GMing.

I am sure this was all orchestrated by the Ducks front office. Not only did they save salary, but these two seniors got a HUGE rest!
They will be rested and ready for the playoffs, while others are hurting.
If this works, expect A. Other teams to follow suit B. The league to make it illegal.
Genius move to bend the rules like this.

It's a sad fact that Burke is finally as smart as he always thought he was. I wish that some of his magic dust would spread to other ex-Canuck putzes like Crawford. We live in tough times people...
The Ducks will win the Stanley Cup again and pick first in the draft.
The Kings are giving their best effort to ensure one of these things doesn't come true. If the season ended today, the Ducks would be picking 10th, probably lower than anyone was expecting when the season started. Everyone send a collective thank you to that crap that is the Southeast Division.

So, 8th, with a possible lottery win moving up to 5th. That's awesome.
