Personally, I find it funny that when Forsberg gets his spleen tore apart by Norstrom, people around here thought it was great, were praising Norstrom, and laughing at Forsberg. When it happens to Avery though - god forbid anybody do the same.
And lastly, the league wouldn't be any better off with out Avery. A skilled player who works his ass off, and in any event played two periods with what should have put him in the hospital earlier than it did and most likely would put most people in an ambulance, isn't exactly what someone with a shred of sense would call "a cancer".
Then I must add that the NHL would be better off without you as a fan right along with him. I think Ringling Bros. are out on tour - maybe you can catch Sean there?
BTW . . . I played 10 weeks of baseball on when ended up being a fractured leg. Two periods? What a wuss.
Trust me - if Avery knew he had a lacerated spleen on the ice, he would have had an ambulance drag him off with life support attached if it was available.

You tell me. See how that works? You don't have a clue, nor do I. However when some of Blake's teammates state that wasn't the topic of conversation, I'll take their word over yours and everyone else who still believes he did.

How many times have current teammates said he was disliked in the locker room? I can see why the Kings said it. A good portion of those guys are/were half ass players who don't put into it what he does. IF the case is that he just tells guys about themselves... well the Kings needed to be told. Sadly they didn't listen.

I don't recall ever laughing or thinking it's great when someone gets hurt. Even when Johnson put Smyth into that post and he was out indefinitely, I didn't laugh or hope he was injured. Nor did I chalk it up to "karma" like many of you do around here. Nor would I cheer if Bertuzzi got hurt. He shouldn't be allowed to play, but I'm not about to cheer for blood.

That's good. Maybe the NHL would be better off without you as a fan, since you're more concerned with personalities than the game. Maybe they don't need any more fans to cheer for a loss so their team can get a better pick. Maybe, since it's a physical sport, they don't need so many soft and sensitive fans. Oh but wait, ten weeks on a fractured leg!? Do you enjoy sucking yourself off?

Do you have a link stating that his teammates said that? I haven't read that anywhere, just that Blake himself never heard anything directly. I'm sure Tucker wouldn't have gotten so mad if Avery called Blake's mom fat. Avery crosses the line of hockey and taking things to the personal level. He's known for it and is known for not having any class. So why is it so hard for you to think he wouldn't say anything about cancer?

That is ****ing hilarious right there. I knew you had some Avery-colored glasses on, but I didn't know it was that bad. There was a whole article in a Vancouver paper where they interviewed some of the ex-Kings on the Canucks and they all basically said what a distraction he was in the lockerroom, that he was greatly disliked by the young players (read: Dustin Brown), that when in Detroit they made him get dressed in a closet or something. You make it sound like the whole rest of the team, and the coaches, we wrong and Avery was some shining example of moral fiber. That's comedy. Hell, the Rangers called him a "detriment to the team" during their arbitration hearing and probably are going to let him walk at the end of the season. How much more evidence do you need?

Hey Salty, I got your back like a car seat.

Hmmm . . . who do I think is a better representative for the game of hockey - Martin Brodeur or Sean Avery? I'll get back to you on that one, it's going to take a while.
What has cheering for a loss to do with Sean Avery? The Rangers lost three games with him in the line-up against the Pens, and now they won without him! My god! He wasn't the glue that held the team together after all!
Trust me - if I could enjoy sucking myself off, I would. But I'm too damned tall.
My point (something that Avery fans always have a tough time grasping) was that you were quickly able to predict that Avery played the entire game on what he knew was a spleen injury like he was some kind of guy superhero.
I was going to end with a religious slander, or perhaps making fun of some diseased member of your family, but I won't go all "Avery" on you. No worries. If you ever do end up going through a rotten divorice, I will make sure to rub it in your face for at least five years afterwards, though.
I love how both sides of the argument think they have all the "facts". No one on this board has any inside information. It's pointless to base your arguments on these hollow points; therefore, I think you're all wasting your time. Either you like Avery or you don't. Period. Those of you that like him should stop defending him (since you're never going to change anyone's minds), and those of you that hate him should stop trying to convert the Avery Fan Club, since it obviously isn't going to happen.
