I believe that the SC winner gets the 30th the runner up gets the 29th so the losers of the the Conference Finals get 28th and 27th. If Dallas losses and Philadelphia loses the Kings will get the 28th pick. If Dallas loses and Pittsburgh loses the Kings will get the 27th pick.

There are a couple of solid blueliners that were projected to go in the lower 20s (Teubert and Gardiner) that we likely won't get to draft now, since the pick is down to around 27th at best. This also makes it harder if DL was thinking of moving up.

Now instead of having the 22nd pick with a San Jose win we are stuck with a best pick of 27th only if Pittsburgh and Dallas lose their perspective conference finals. Some fans just don not get how much 5 draft spots mean.

Correct. My crystal ball says Wings/Pens in the final and that puts the Dallas pick at 28. God! Do I have to root for the f'ing Flyers? Yuck!
