i saw this rumor as well and if Waddell did this he should be shot in the face before they fire him... something like this is exactly what Gillis needs to be doing in Vancouver.

If that deal were to happen, I would think that Bieksa would also have to be included and that the Thrash would be sending some spare parts or picks back to Vancouver.

Then, after the Wondertwins play out the last year of their contracts and sign with the Redwings next summer for $2M per season for 5 years, Waddell goes shopping for a new job.

As for the Kings getting Kovalchuk, it ain't gonna happen. The new Russian Rocket is a great player, but he's 3 or 4 years ahead of our curve.

It is an interesting thought of grabbing Kovi, and throwing him on the wing with Mats.

kovalchuk isn't going to do much better in vancouver than he did in atlanta. he'll still leave vancouver via free agency.

i say trade the sedins for future picks and prospects
then trade luongo for the same kind of deal.


i'm sorry vancouver, but Demitra is NOT going to solve the offensive problem.
Sedins will be nice and all, but one line isn't going to get you in the playoffs.

I say let Gillis continue to believe that the Canucks are on the verge of greatness. They can occupy the black hole while we rebuild and then go streaking by them in the Western Conference standings.

BTW, no way Atlanta makes that deal.
