right, and they could have 50 Huets in net, but without Ovechkin they ain't even breathing at a playoff spot.
... and he clearly wasn't Montreal's MVP because they opted on the kid.
Did I say he was Montreals MVP? No. He's the Most Valuable Player in the LEAGUE this season.
He played a huge role on the success of TWO franchises.
Not one. TWO.
Had he not been traded or if Washington doesn't make the playoffs then forget it... but if the Caps qualify it's because of the late season push they made. Courtesy of Huet.

So is Brian Campbell the runner-up? Buffalo was still in the running for the playoffs back in February, wasn't it?
Applying your logic, last year's winner should have been Eric Belanger. Or just rename the friggin' thing the Pascal Dupuis Trophy.

i would say their turnaround, which began to happen far before the trade deadline, was due in LARGE part to Bruce Boudreau.
put Huet in net in Vancouver or Ovechkin up front in Vancouver... who would've gotten that team into the playoffs?

The Caps are 14-4 since acquiring Huet. His record in the 12 games he's played? 10-2 with a 1.69 GAA and a .934 sv%
That's HUGE.
I don't remember what place Montreal was in when he was traded... but he was traded to many "WTF is Montreal thinking" comments and they were IN the playoffs when it happened.
Buffalo missed the playoffs and I don't think anybody expected the Sharks to slip out of playoff contention even without Campbell.
As for Belanger.... well that's just willfully obtuse. He was nowhere near as integral a part in his teams success AND The Hurricanes missed the playoffs last season.
