Pronger's an attraction, mostly for the wrong reasons but an attraction none the less. He translates into viewers and $'s. Chris Simon doesn't. Hence the disparity.
The lost salary is the only punishment. This suspension really should have carried into the playoffs. Instead he gets to rest and skip a combined 4 games vs SJ & Dallas, all of which carry the potential to get physical.
Not enough but it's nice to know that he won't be in the lineup when The Kings play The Ducks the final 2 times this season.
I am sorry he won't be in the line up. I was hoping after what he'd done to Handzus it would have given someone on the Kings one last crack at this a-hole. If you recall, Ivanans was out with injury and was quoted somewhere saying he'd like to send a message to Pronger if given the chance. But it is obvious with the direction this league is heading someone will be killed on the ice and there goes our game.
Campbell and bobble head Bettman have to go... As for the 8 games, its perfect for the Ducks to get a rested Pronger back to a hero's welcome for the playoffs. I just hope they face the Stars who have throttled them all season...
Chris Simon should be suing the NHL. Unbelieveable I slightly feel sorry for that piece of ****.
I totally agree. Simon should be contacting attorneys to get 22 games worth of salary back. The standard was set with Simon, now it was set back to what it was before, stars of the league get special treatment. You know, when Pronger got hit in the face lots of us were saying "yeah he is a ahole, but you don't want to see the guy get hurt" Starting to have a different view of him now??? Its easy to see why players don't have the respect for eachother they used to have, its because the leaders of the NHL don't have the respect for ALL of their players....
curious what the f'r Hayward's comments were during the game itself and now that the suspension has been given.. Hayward is like a car wreck, you don't want to hear him, but you can't resist..
Oh, noez! They got the innocent guy. He totally didn't mean it! He is one of the nicest players in NHL. The video is so bad that you can hardly even recognize the players! In fact I don't think it was Pronger at all, it was one of the Kessler's teammates!

pathetic, but the consolation is that WHEN he pulls ANOTHER cheap shot in the playoffs, the NHL will have to suspend him for a long while as it will be his 9th infraction. But will they? Magic 8 ball sez, check back later
