well, now that two of the most notable RFAs have been signed today, O'Sullivan, his agent, and Lombardi/Solomon need to have a sit down.
good deal, by the way... especially the first two years. the third MAY get a little dicey @ $4.8 million, but Leclaire is a goaltender that i really think has the goods.
...and everyone s*** on me and Mr. Irreverent when we suggested trading for him last summer.

Not everyone man. I would have loved to have him in Los Angeles.

Well. This is the club GM'd by a guy who didn't think Ilya Bryzgalov was worth a draft pick. Allegedly.
What would Leclaire have cost (before his nine shutouts)? Would Lombardi have parted with it?
WE DID NOT HAVE FIRST DIBS ON BRYZGALOV.
The team who did, got him.

If he stays healthy, he'll probably earn the $4.8M (and, anyway, the cap hit is what it is ($11.4m/3)).
his cap hit is $3.8 million... he was making much less than that a year ago.

In any case, the extension Bryzgalov eventually signed (3y/12.75M) was probably too steep for the Kings.
all we know it was Burke said rather flippantly... something to the effect of him not being able to even get a 4th round pick for him.
Bryzgalov's cap hit for the next three years is $4.25 million, is two years older than Leclaire and not as good... in fact, i'm not sold on Bryzgalov, still.
