If I remember right DRD was really high on Harrold going into last off-season.
With the dmen we have under contract, Harrold is probably "penciled in" as a top 6 guy next year. Barring a few acqusitions Harrold has a top 6 spot to lose.
I don't really have anything against Harrold per se. He's a rookie and playing like one, which is fine. My problem is that I don't think the Kings can afford to go with three midget defensemen, and just about everyone can agree that Lubo & Preissing aren't going anywhere, so...

What did you expect? He's shaping up to be a relatively sound, safe guy with good skating and a decent shot. He isnt too much of a liability, he just isnt going to be a rough and tumble guy banging around below the dots....but every team has these guys, were fortunate to have one so young that was raised in our own system. You know, even the elite teams in the league have the Maras, Streits, Kronwalls, Scuderis, etc types in their line up, you dont have to be a superstar to be competent, even at this level.
edit: after a quick glance at the players named, Kronwall and Streit are having career years (All be it with good teams with superb power play units), they're a few years older than Harrold. PH is also a +2 over 22games with only 2 total PIMs...not sure of his ATOI, but it has to be 12min+.

I'd say the guy is shaping up to be something pretty decent on likely the third pairing in the future, with upside to possibly be even better than that. Im still on board with him growing with this squad. Not to mention, the guys is like a ****ing sponge and completely coachable.

err, no, I dont think I called out anyone specifically.
there's a fair chunk of people that are pretty dissatisfied with Harrold and think hes a total bust, a casual perusal of Home Ice on any given slow news Wednesday will tell you that.

I just figured you were referring to me since I'm the only one in this thread saying anything negative about him. Again it's not really him I object to, just the fact that he's small and I don't think the Kings can afford 3 small defensemen and one guy that skates with a walker next year...

No Bandit, at this point in my LGK existence, Im pretty confident that you have a handle on most things Kings related, this included. This was more me chipping in my own two cents on Harrold, requested or not.
