One more tidbit from the Slovak league: the best team in the regular season, Slovan Bratislava (Lubo's former team), hired the ex-King defenseman Jere Karalahti for the remainder of this season a few weeks ago... but due to the drug charges against Karalahti and the ongoing court proceedings in Finland, Karalahti still hasn't joined the team, although the playoffs begin this week. If found guilty, Karalahti could spend up to 6 years in prison.

Thank you so much demo05! This is really good news to hear and it really makes me hopeful of him returning to the NHL (and maybe...just maybe the Kings.) Hope never gets Kings fans anywhere, but Palffy is still my all-time favorite player and I hope he can make a return.
Seriously, with the loss of Nagy, Thornton, and Willsie wouldn't you think that the addition of Palffy as a veteran and offensive mentor be a good acquisition? I think they should sign him back for a 1 year 2.5 million deal in the offseason depending on how he performs in the World Championships. Or at least get him in the King's training camp as a tryout and give him a chance.

That's just Wild (no pun intended) speculation at this point.
But wait, now Hossa is in Pittsburgh! Both Hossa and Palffy used to play (though not simultaneously) for the same Slovak club, Trencin, before departing for the NHL, so...
It's funny to read interviews with Hossa about how excited he is due to being able to play alongside Crosby and/or Malkin. It seemed like Palffy hated playing alongside Crosby and Lemieux – to be a team's no. 3 star is definitely not something he is used to. But, he has re-evaluated his priorities in life and hockey over the past couple of years, so he might be content with a more modest NHL role in 2008/2009, if this indeed comes to pass and Dr. Naysay errs.
Palffy's second playoff game since retirement is currently in progress... I'm watching it live on TV. They're also advertising an online broadcast of this hockey game, but it does not work right here where I am (Slovakia). Perhaps viewers from abroad can watch the game online right now?
Just as I wrote this, Palffy scored! A slapshot from the blue-line – as an exception, from the left wing position. That's afer 10 minutes played in the 1st period. Skalica leading 1-0 now.
In the first game, Skalica beat Zvolen 7-1, with Palffy assisting on 2 goals and Lubo Visnovsky's brother Tibor scoring a short-handed goal. Palffy's linemate, ex-San Jose Shark Zalesak, received a match penalty after only 12 seconds of play, after crosschecking an opposing defenseman's head and neck.
EDIT: What a lively game! Zvolen equalized a minute later, but another 2 minutes later, Zalesak scored another goal for Skalica, assisted by Palffy. So, in his first 73 playoff-game minutes since retirement, Palffy has 4 points for 1 goal and 3 assists.

Palffy added another goal in this game, a tip-in from a defenseman's cross-ice pass.
So, Palffy has 5 points (2G, 3A) in the first 2 playoff games since his return from retirement.
Skalica won this game, too, 7-4, with the frustrated opposing team swapping their goalies twice in the course of the game. Just as yesterday, Tibor Visnovsky scored a goal. Both Palffy and Tibor Visnovsky serve as the team's assistant captains.
The online broadcast of the game was definitely blacked out here in Slovakia, probably abroad as well. Normal live online broadcast of that TV channel (STV 2) resumed as soon as the hockey game was over.
