No way. LGK only wants players 21 or younger - regardless if they're good or not.
But in reference to the trade, I think both teams get what they want for where they are. Corvo has progressed since he was on the Kings. He is a good depth defenseman and a fringe high end defenseman. He skates well and shoots well, which is something Carolina lacks on their blueline. Plus he fits in their power play scheme. I agree that Eaves was going to get aced out with Vermette there and Foligno looking like he's ready for the NHL.
Ottawa got a good pair of rentals. Commodore 64 is a good beard and hair. Stillman will do wonders playing with Spezza and Heatley, and Alfreddsson will be able to carry the second line.

I think what helps Corvo out (since he left LA) is that he has a solid goalie behind him.
That being said, he is still a liability and should be traded. Again.
Damn, i wanted to get Commodore in a Kings uniform for that physical defenseman we need. I guess we can always sign him in the offseason if he doesnt resign. Maybe Barrett Jackman??

Like KFC mentioned, not a solid goalie but a better goalie.
One thing Ottawa did well with Corvo was they masked him from ever having to play much defense. Him and Preissing were played together and they almost exclusivly played with the Spezza line to form a very offensive 5 man unit.
One of the reason's Corvo's plus/minus was so high was because that line was so dominant they spent tons of time attacking in the offensive zone. In addition, opposing teams would always strive to ice their defensive units against that group, so Corvo never really saw ice time against top offensive units. A really good bit of coaching by Murray, utilizing his players to their strengths.

Ottawa is pretty close to the cap and they still have some impending RFAs to sign, notably Meszaros and Vermette. I think it'll be hard for them to meet Commodore's demands, so expect him to be on the open market.
Well, with Gerber and now Stillman and Commodore, Ottawa has sure collected enough human good luck charms not only to make the Finals, but to win the whole thing.

Plus they were trying to trade away Wade Redden, a bad luck charm?
this is a good short term move by the sens. i dont see them signing either one of these guys in the offseason, although there is some talk that redden wont be resigned and he will walk a ufa. commodore cant replace redden's offensive contribution, but he does provide needed grit and help in the defensive zone.
i dont see how this really helps carolina. its true that they can use a powerplay specialist, but not only do they lose one of their stronger defensive players, but corvo is often a defensive liability. eaves has a lot of potential but is injury prone (concussions). i think rutherfurd got hosed again.
