Wow, I'm watching the Stars- Sharks game and I can't believe that they don't give these guys any breaks at all during the OT's. I mean we are litterally watching 20 min. of pure hockey. I think it's great as a spectator, but it can't be good for the players or the ref's, can it? Now thst this game is going into OT #3, guys gotta be getting extremely tired, and it would be sad to see this game end just because 1 mistake happened. It would be a long summer....

What percentage of goals are the result a mistake?
The goal of sudden-death overtime is exactly that, to make a mistake blaringly obvious, in the form of a game-winning goal. There is no other sport like it when it comes to playoffs. I love playoff hockey, just as long as the Ducks aren't involved.
They shouldn't have them at all. I'd take advertisements on the uniforms before another no-change icing is negated by TV dollars. That's ****ing with the actual play and compromises the game.
since its relevant to ot, is anyone else bothered by the way the refs have been swallowing their whistles during ot throughout the playoffs. last season, if a player committed an infraction the refs called it as they saw it. not this year. i honestly dont know whats worse tho. not calling anything, or deciding after 3 OTs that they were going to call those two penalties.
The no TV timeouts in OT makes icing much more effective. When you know there isn't a tv time out to help you rest up, chances are... you'll try not to ice the puck even more. It really keeps the game flow moving better.
