I think baseball is the only sport with such an agreement. That is why there have been competing football, basketball and hockey leagues pop up but not baseball. That is also why baseball issues come under such congressional scrutiny because of the unique status it holds. I am not an expert but i did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
well I know the nfl has an anti trust about broadcasting rights meaning the league and not each team determines who broadcasts the games, cbs, fox. and I know the NHL was brought in during the last congressional hearing even though their program was adequate.

In regard to the NFL, what you are referring to is not anti-trust. Anti-trust in simple terms refers to barring monopolies. Baseball is a legal monopoly. You are referring to television agreements negotiated by the league and that has to do with revenue sharing not anti-trust.

No, you are mistaken or I didn't explain it right. the nfl has an anti trust in which "The NFL's has an ability to negotiate exclusive sports packages" basically the league chooses only direct tv has sunday ticket and the league chooses nfc games are on fox, other wise teams would negotiate with fsn and others.
While this one doesn't say infact they have an anti trust exemption but talks about the nhl at the mlb hearings, and I don't believe congress would have any jurisdiction over the nhl without holding an exemption over them. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3163602
Maybe I'm off base, I don't really know. If there is infact such an agreement then ok, but it would involve more digging that isn't worth it. so i'm just giving up on it at this point

Yes, now I see that there is an NFL anti-trust exemption. But from what I can gather it is different from baseball's exemption in that it seems to only extend to the right of the league to negotiate the TV contracts on behalf of the teams. http://www.thedeal.com/servlet/Satel...=1164921118180
Baseball's exemption seems to be much greater, according to the first link that I provided.
