I don't think the team would go away if he gets kicked out, he'd probably just sell them at that point.

That's pretty harsh though. NHL doesn't mess around.

Think what would happen IF they got control of the team. The BOG could sell it to the highest bidder, and SPLIT all the proceeds evenly to all of the other owners.

No, this is another reason WHY the owners LOVE him.

That team, in that market, would likely sell on the open market to the tune of close to $1B .
