NHL on ESPN Next Year?

Anybody else notice that on Satellite Hot Stove on Hockey Night in Canada tonight that Al Strachan said it was pretty likely that ESPN will be doing a game of the week next year.Apparently they get more response about hockey on their website than NASCAR and other sports they carry besides football and basketball.

you're forgetting Colorado and Dallas, i remember watching colorado games on ESPN the most.

thats great for the states, your more likely to see highlights being played on different stations if their covered by ESPN compared to Vs. or FSN

I remember a lot of Sharks games too. Regardless of the teams it can only be good overall for the NHL. And hopefully if they start with big-market teams the ratings will dictate more coverage. I think ESPN realizes that hockey is still one of the big 4 albeit the last place spot, and they are incomplete without at least a marginal coverage of the sport. And Thorne was ok...but Jayzus if they bring back "head full'o'cement" Clement...I am outta there!

Playing NHL 08, it's pretty terrible to listen to the guy mispronounce 20% of the player's names.
