Sources tell TSN the NHL has approved a schedule that will have each team play 24 divisional games, 40 in-conference matchups, 15 games against non-conference teams and three wild card games against out of conference teams.
The new schedule, which received the necessary two-thirds majority vote, will swing into play next season.
Why the hell can't they do 30 games against non-conference teams? That way, everyone has a home game at least once against each other. Instead, this will require some "rotating". Yeah, there are 3 wild card games also, but technically speaking... we'll only see an Eastern Conference team play at Staples Center once every 2 years.
Oh well. I guess I had high hopes that they would have the exact same format like the NBA.
The small bit of bright side is seeing the Ducks, Sharks, Stars, Yotes only 6 times and not 8.

See you b#tche$ when the Devils come a'calling on the Kings...even though my boyzz usually crap it up on the west coast roadie.
Last time I saw a Kings/Devils game was in the 99/00 season I think and it was in NJ of course.
Anyways, as I said in the other thread about this, I'd prefer the other proposed schedule where every team plays each other at least twice every season. I guess this is a start, can't complain too much.
